Could face to face flirting become a thing of the past?

Face to face flirting could become a lost art with young Brits hiding behind their keyboards to chat up online.

Despite 83 per cent believing themselves to be experts in the art of seduction, with over one in five claiming to flirt an average of six times a week, 50 per cent do it online rather than in person.

Almost half (43 per cent) say they now 'tech flirt', using smilies and instant messaging when courting.

Even old-fashioned holiday romance lacks relevance today, with only 18 per cent agreeing it is the best place to employ their best chat up lines and sultry glances.

The survey of 1,500 young people between 16-24 found that people feel most comfortable flirting in the flesh when they are out on the town or at a party, while only 19 per cent flirted at work.

The rise of online dating has taken a lot of the difficulty and mystery out of the search for the right guy or girl, but the study found that romance may not be completely dead - yet.

Regular eye contact, lingering glances and cheeky giggles are still techniques employed when on the pull, although over a third would rather send a winking 'smilie'.

With the demise in snail mail’s popularity, love letters are also becoming outdated, with 15 per cent of potential couples preferring to have a bit of banter over email and 14 per cent using pokes to let someone know they want to be more than Facebook friends.

However, despite more and more of us avoiding any awkward encounters by hiding behind computer screens, youngsters think the old ways work best in the long term.

One in five tech-savvy youngsters admit that a suggestive smile can be too good to resist, while 23 per cent fall for playful teasing and 19 per cent go weak at the knees for a simple compliment.

The research was carried out by One Poll as part of a campaign launch for drinks brand Oasis, who are hosting a giant game of spin the bottle at the London Eye hosted by Rick Edwards.

I find this so sad because it really does seem that our lives are being taken over by the Internet. What happened to good old fashioned dating? Sharing your stories face to face and visiting the cinema or taking romantic walks. They have been saying for years now that romance is dead! I was browsing through the net today and came across a survey that asked how many women would give up sex for two weeks instead of the Internet!

Just how reliant are you on the Internet?

Nearly half of the women questioned by Harris Interactive said they'd be willing to forgo sex for two weeks, rather than give up their Internet access, according to a study released Monday by Intel, which commissioned the survey.

While 46 percent of the women surveyed were willing to engage in abstinence versus losing their Internet, only 30 percent of the men surveyed were willing to do likewise.

I find it quite sad that women would rather do without sex than the Internet. The net seems to have taken over peoples lives. If we aren’t browsing the net or on facebook, we are playing games. Would it really hurt to shut down the computer for two weeks?

Todays topic is quite an interesting one and it is the fact that poorer people have more sex than rich people.

So why is that?

Well I am guessing that the poorer people don’t work so that means that they have more time on their hands to engage in sexual relations. I have found though also, that poorer people do tend to have more children. Is this a good thing? If the parents are able to look after those children and keep them well fed and dressed then yes why not. But if they are walking around in rags and look grubby and thin then no.

How many poor people do you know with well dressed children?

I can only name a few but I think that the majority of them cannot afford to look after the children the way they are supposed to.

As for having more sex….well I can only come to the conclusion that poor people cannot afford to go out so they are in the house most of the time and are able to have more intimacy and sex!!!!!
